Keith Loughran is a military veteran and is in recovery himself and has been clean and sober since 1987. He is a fully qualified psychiatric social worker, counsellor and therapist. His speciality is addiction and mental health. Keith has dealt with referrals from Royalty and has questioned members from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords around alcohol issues. Keith holds a post qualification in Social Work and is a practice teacher/assessor for Social Work students right up to degree level. He is available onsite for help and support 24/7 and also facilitates weekend spiritual retreats for our clients.
Linda Loughran has over 40 years of personal and professional experience of living and dealing with issues around drug, alcohol and mental health. Linda is also a Registered Child Care Officer and has a wealth of experience supporting those with mental health needs. She also has many years of experience working with families and carers of those affected by substance misuse.
Tamzin Jones joined us in January 2020 bringing a wealth of knowledge of wider veteran issues from Age UK Wirral Joining Forces. Tamzin spent the last three years building this project up from the ground as the lead project manager.
Denise Drake (Dee) has 26 years experience working in the drug, alcohol and mental health field. Dee was previously hostel manager of Birkenhead YMCA and was also a Key worker at The Ark Hostel. She was a founder member of ACTIF (a local alcohol support group) having worked there on a voluntary basis for the last 8 years. Dee is also a founder member of The Quays, a local peer-led support service and is a Public Patient Involvement Representative for Cheshire West Partnership NHS Trust.
Melissa Pearson joined the office team in October 2018 as one of our Administrators. She joined us after recently having another baby. She covers the HR and administration for Wirral Veterans three days a week in the office. Melissa is also the volunteer coordinator with Wirral Veterans.
